George Nick, American, born 1927
Nick attended the Art Students League in New York and received his BFA and MFA from Yale University. He has taught at Hollins University, Virginia and the Massachusetts College of Art. Grants and awards include the Childe Hassam Fund; the National Endowment for the Arts, and a Department of the Interior Bicentennial grant. Works of his reside in the collection of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C.; the Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Folks Museum, Essen, Germany; the National Museum of Johannesburg, South Africa, and numerous others. He is on the faculty of the New York Studio School in New York City.
